October 31, 2008, Newsletter Issue #140: Safety Sensors
1
Tip of the Week
As an industrial safety product, safety sensors have saved numerous lives over the years. They are often used in the manufacturing industry to inform the employee operating the machinery about a problem occurring. Safety sensors are usually connected to a computer, which monitors the various tasks being completed by the machinery.
There are many different safety sensors your workplace or laboratory can have installed. The break-a-beam safety sensors are useful for when workers enter a dangerous area, or you can install perimeter guard safety sensors, which work in the same way as break-a-beam safety sensors. Perimeter guards decrease injuries by preventing other people from touching dangerous parts on a machine, or hazardous areas in a laboratory.
